LTKC: Our Destiny

LTKC: Our Destiny

Destiny. What is it exactly?

It’s a destination.

The world seems to be in confusion through their rejection of God to believe in divine purpose. The world seems to be trying to make sense of their own or better yet become the master of their own destiny. But not for us. Not for the people of God.

We were purchased with a price and our lives are no longer our own.

As the Korean American church tries to make sense of her destiny, it seems as though we must first look back. It seems as though the pages of our history have been lost in translation for some time. But it is my firm desire to try and recover what seems like was once forgotten and to transmit this to an upcoming generation.

I do not have all the answers as to where the Korean Church is heading, but I do believe that the same one who guided us in history past is present with us now to lead us into our future.

As we look at the current American and global landscape it is apparently clear that we are not living in “normal” times. In the wake of the Corona Virus and the shutdown of our society, many are asking the tough questions. Where do we go from here?

I believe these series of writings are first and foremost a call to prayer. In these times we find ourselves in, we must return back to the ancient paths of understanding. We must pray.

My desire is that we will find ourselves in a new dawn of understanding. That we will begin to open the scrolls of our past and create prayerful and meaningful dialogue out of them.

My desire is that we will search the scriptures like never before under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. That we would look to the story of those who have gone before us and dare to ask the question: Why?

Why are we here?

Is God done with the Korean American Church or is there still an assignment that lay before us now?

God help us. God pour out your spirit once again. May the fires that once burned through the churches of Korea burn within us once again.

As once recipients of the American missionary movement, could it be we are here to return the favor? Could it be that we are here in what seems to be America’s darkest hour to fight for this country that once bled and fought for us?

My personal answer is yes. And if you are feeling the stirring to answer the call I would love to connect. We must be the people of prayer of the dawn once again. We must recover our birthright. We must recover our identity.

Thank you for reading and God bless.
